Lauren Cleary
Occupational Therapist
Lauren received her Bachelor’s degree in Health Science Studies and her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy at Quinnipiac University. She has since spent several years at an outpatient pediatric sensory integration clinic working with children of all ages.
Lauren enjoys working with children to address all areas of need including gross motor skills, fine motor skills, sensory progressing skills, executive functioning skills, praxis skills, feeding skills, and age-related self-care stills that allow for optimal functional independence. She has speciality training in the Sequential Oral Sensory Approach to Feeding. Lauren also has experience implementing Handwriting Without Tears, Bal-A-Vis-X, the Wilbarger Brushing Protocol, the Zones of Regulation / ALERT program, and Therapeutic Listening. Lauren has worked at a summer camp helping children ages 13-16 years old develop life skills and social skills, as well as volunteered at a summer camp for children with limb differences. Additionally, she has provided services to adults and children in Guatemala with various neurological and physical disabilities that focused on the education of individualized adaptive equipment and home exercise programs to help increase their independence. Lauren has a passion for working with children of all ages to increase their self confidence and improve their functional skills through skilled intervention.
During her free time, Lauren loves spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys skiing, boating, watching movies, traveling, and exploring new restaurants and fun activities with the people she loves.
